Our long story starts with a small boy whose father is a merchant who trades recycled plastics. This was the beginning of digital cameras and end of old camera film rolls (Kodak if you want to visualize). The kid sees piles of removed labels and films in the process of separating the plastic which was considered waste and to be dumped. But the he didn’t feel like throwing away tons of rolls and took some sample films in a bag running across streets of that town from shop to shop. Some laughed, some advised, some gave info, some scolded but that didn’t stop him running to the next shop. Some merchant said the material comes from Bombay, another scolded asking where did he brought it from (if he had theft), some other merchant burnt the film smelled it and gave some info about plastic grade but nobody wanted to buy from him. Let’s say after 12 to 13 shops, one man made this kid smile by taking the film rolls for about 3rs per kilo! There you go. The first deal was made! He tasted the first lesson of business, strategy, branding, sales in the process of making his first deal. He grows up street smart, gets his MBA, and has his experience all sorts of marketing methods from offline to the new digital era. He wants to start a kickass media agency by his name just like the old times(Veena stores, Hari enterprises, blablabla) but naming like DigitalDinesh, SellinglikeSmitha becomes another tom, dick and harry , that case he could have named his company as Prem’s Digital Marketing agency. Did that sound kickass or cool? Naaaaah.

Merp is the mirror image of Prem.
Okay, we have named it merp media and a .com domain is available.
What does Merp Mean in the real world? Well according to Google.
‘Merp’ is a word for when you really don’t know what to say. It’s especially useful in situations which are awkward or disappointing in some way.
That doesn’t sound good or positive. We can’t make a company sound like that.
Hell to what the internet says, that’s their MERP.
Our MERP is Different.
We are wealth generators, the farmers of Internet Afforestation. We plant trees on the internet for Branding. We create revenue & that’s very positive stuff.
MERP = Making Endless Revenue Possible.
After seeing 100’s of layouts with flashy images, gif’s, charts and graphs, we felt that’s not how our site should be.
We are minimalists, we want to keep it simple with less images and strictly no flashy stuff.
We had to figure out how a website can have mostly text and still make it Likeable &Brandable.
On the brainstorming session –we were strongly suggested not to do so, we had feedbacks like.
- A site filled with only Text, That’s going to be very boring.
- It will look like a word document.
- People will just scroll for images and close the tab, that’s human psychology.
They could be right but still we decided to try anyway.
The designing starts, we decided to go on a quote basis. Two or three lined text, highlighted & precisely to the point which spreads the Aura of who we are.
